Entry 24 - Julie & Julia, The MovieTwo true stories about two women in different time zone, Julia Child and Julie Powell who have loving husbands, ideal life and family, were once lost in directions and finally found their passion and hope in cooking.
Julia Child in 1946, felt lost when she could not do anything for herself when her husband and her landed in a foreign land. She tried to pick up hat making, playing bridges and finally took the passion in cooking. Julia never gave up her passion for cooking and whenever she fails to produce results, she blames no one for the failure. Finally, she published her own cookbook and appeared on tv cooking programmes.
Julie Powell in 2002, who just turned 30 years old, settled down into a small apartment with her husband when she could not find a meaning in her life until she sees Julia as her Godsend guardian who helped to pick her up from failure through the cookbook. Julie then started a project of her own, a project that helped her became a better person and sets a goal in her life.
A simple and meaningful movie I would say. Somehow tells the story of how people are once lost, find passion and directions along the way and determine to work towards it.
